Resource: Setting Up a Blog With Blogger.com

Step 1

We begin by going to http://www.blogger.com

Step 2

Pick a username and password that you'll remember. The password has to be at least 6 characters long and the username has to be unique on Blogger. Unless your name is very uncommon, you won't be able to use it as a username on Blogger without appending something else, like your zipcode.

If you prefer to not use your real name with your blog, that is fine. If you already have a blog, then you can jump to Step 8.

WRITE DOWN YOUR USERNAME AND PASSWORD NOW!

Step 3

Choose a title for your blog. That's how it will appear in bookmarks, etc.

Choose a one-word and unique name for the URL for your blog. No spaces or unusual characters.

Step 4

There are many to choose from. Just pick one for now to get started. You can always change it later.

Step 5

Wasn't that simple?

Step 6

Now click in the Settings tab and complete a description for your blog. Again, you can always go back and change it.

Step 7

Go to the Publishing tab under settings.

Change the Ping Weblogs.com setting to Yes and click on Save Settings. This will help other bloggers find you when you've made a change.

Step 8

Now you're ready to post your first blog entry. Introduce yourself and share your ideas for using weblogs in your own teaching. When you are finished click Publish Post.

Step 9

In no time, your blog is published. Notice the URL. That's what you need to

And now you're done! From this moment on, you can tell your friends and relatives to to go to http://whatever.blogspot.com/ to see your blog (substituting your blog name, of course).
